Application: Shake well before use!
Surface Preparation: The surfaces to be worked on must be dry, solid, dust-free, and grease-free. The surface must be placed level to achieve optimal flow behavior and an even layer thickness.
1. Mix the desired acrylic paints separately with the Pouring Medium. To do this, mix the paint with approximately two to three times the amount of Pouring Medium and stir well. It is recommended to use 3 to 4 different colors.
Tip: One of the colors should be white, as this creates a more contrasting image.
2. The mixed paints are layered in a clean cup. For this, pour the colors alternately into the cup without stirring in between. Any number of layers can be poured, depending on the desired look of the final image.
Tip: If white is one of the colors, it is recommended to add a small amount of the white mixture between each color.
3. Place the surface upside down on the cup, then invert both so the surface is right side up and the cup with the layered paints is upside down on the surface. Alternatively, the cup can be flipped onto the surface in one quick motion.
4. Lift the cup to allow the paints to flow. The surface can be slightly tilted to influence the flow of the paint.
Since the goal of pouring techniques is the flowing of colors, a larger amount of paint should be used than is actually needed. A lot of paint will run over the edges of the surface, so it’s advisable to cover the work area before starting.
